ARTIST STATEMENT
Erik Adam H Groesch | 2026
Resonant Surfaces — my art makes moments of openness, connection and discovery visible.
My work moves between perception and reduction.
Landscapes, architecture and abstract forms are different ways for me to make the present visible. I am less interested in exact representation than in the atmosphere of a place, a moment or a memory. This is how paintings emerge that make openness, light, structure and connection tangible.
My perspective has been shaped by many years of creative work as a music producer. Composition, rhythm and dynamics also play a central role in my painting — expressed through colour, surface and material rather than sound.
Through the deliberate use of different grounds, textures and techniques, each work develops its own presence. My paintings invite viewers to see the familiar anew and to make discoveries of their own.
Many of my works find their place in private collections, companies and contemporary architectural spaces, where they create atmosphere and lend each setting a distinctive tension.
BIOGRAPHIE
Erik Adam H Groesch
Erik Adam H Groesch is a freelance visual artist whose practice focuses on painting and material-driven approaches to image-making.
His artistic practice has developed since the 1990s. Following his first sales in 2001 and his first public exhibitions from 2007 onwards, he has developed an independent body of work spanning landscape, abstraction and spatial presence.
His artistic perspective has also been shaped by his training as a qualified music producer (2004) and by many years of work as a musician and sound engineer. His engagement with rhythm, atmosphere and perception continues to influence his visual language.
Since 2016, large-scale works by Erik Adam H Groesch have been permanently presented in publicly accessible spaces. In 2022, his work received a Certificate of Merit from the Luxembourg Art Prize.
Since 2026, he has devoted himself fully to visual art. Through exhibitions, collaborations and his Atelier unterwegs project, he continues to develop his practice through direct exchange with audiences, cultural institutions and companies.
Erik Adam H Groesch lives and works in Hesse, Germany.
